Sacred space’ protest

Anglican priest Melodie Edwards, a former chaplain at the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre in Hamilton, Ont., is embroiled in a battle with the province over what she considers to be inappropriate and disrespectful use of the chapel in the facility. Her protest has cost her her job as chaplain. She says she was fired; the province, she says, has accused her of abandoning her position.
