Heart-warming stories of what faith is all about

Published May 1, 2004

Dear editor,

I would like to express my appreciation for your two excellent, heart-warming articles, Babies’ first garments give comfort and Shawls encircle owners in prayer (April).

What wonderful examples are portrayed here, of people who bring Christ’s love and compassion into their communities! Isn’t this what our faith is about?

Ministry of love

Dear editor,

I wish to thank you for printing the article about our chapter of Threads of Love. In the 14 months since our launch, we have donated more than 1,000 items to our local hospital. As well, the department of spiritual and religious care at the hospital is arranging for the prayers to be translated into the many languages of our multicultural community.

We welcome others to join us, either here in Mississauga at the church of St. Luke (Dixie), the second Thursday afternoon of each month, or across Canada, by starting your own chapter. Please visit www.threadsoflove.org to find out more about this ministry of love to families in crisis, and how you can get involved.
