Raymond Schultz, 62, national bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC), was released from hospital in early September and allowed to resume limited duties following a nuclear stress test to measure blood flow to the heart.
A news release said results of an angiogram showed that Bishop Schultz had a secondary artery entirely blocked and a partly blocked primary artery.
However, further tests revealed that no surgery or intervention is needed. His doctor has approved a gradual easing back into his duties. He is expected to be back at work full-time by mid-October.
Bishop Schultz succeeded ELCIC national bishop Telmor Sartison.
