Youth program

Ask and Imagine, a popular Anglican leadership course for young people, will have international participants for the first time this summer, said Judy Steers, program director. Four visitors from Cuba – two theology students and two young adults – will attend, run workshops and observe. “They will add a huge depth to the experience, giving the youth an understanding of a different cultural context,” said Ms. Steers. Last year, Ask and Imagine split into two components – a course in May for 18-to-25-year-olds and a course in August for high school students. The Cuban visitors will take part in the first program, which runs from May 7 to 18 at Huron University College in London, Ont. Since its start in 1999, 133 young people from 19 Canadian Anglican dioceses have participated in Ask and Imagine, which focuses on leadership skills, developing world views and exploring where “faith interacts with real life,” said Ms. Steers. The deadline for applications is March 31 and more information is available at www.askandimagine.org or from Rev. Susan Baldwin at Huron University College at (519) 438-7224, ext. 251.
