Bishop Sue Moxley keeps her attire for the Queen’s garden party under her hat.
Bishop Anthony Burton of Saskatchewan was giving a spirited talk on his experiences at the Lambeth Conference and urged his fellow bishops to attend the Queen’s garden party at Buckingham Palace, which occurs in the midst of the conference. He noted that women (most of them wives of male bishops) are expected to wear dressy hats and he asked rhetorically, “When in your life do you get the chance to wear a big, crazy hat?”
“Every Sunday!” called out Bishop Sue Moxley of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, to explosive laughter.
