(ENI)-A coalition of U.S. churches and church groups is hailing a recent United Nations resolution that calls for the creation of a Palestinian state.

The 16-member ecumenical coalition, Churches for Middle East Peace, based in Washington, D.C., said the resolution was a major step forward in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Episcopal Church of the USA is a member of Churches for Middle East Peace.
