New editor named

Canon John Caird has retired after 24 years as editor of the Rupert?s Land News. Mr. Caird began writing for the paper in 1978, became a member of the editorial team in 1982 and editor in 1990.

The new editor is Irvin Kroeker, a retired man with 20 years experience in journalism. Mr. Kroeker is active in the Manitoba Society of Seniors and became an Anglican 11 years ago.

Canon Caird had helped to increase the size of the paper from four to 20 pages and introduced colour photos to the cover pages.
