Three young Anglicans were murdered in Montreal Lake, Sask., on March 3.

The victims were identified as Kerry Naytowhow, 19, and Greg Naytowhow, 26, sons of Valerie Bird, the former vice president of the diocesan Anglican Church Women, and current president of the Montreal Lake branch.

The third victim was Farro Bird, 19, the granddaughter of Rev. Leonard Bird, a retired Anglican priest, and daughter of Flossie Bird and Anthony Charles.

Police have not established a motive for the murders.

Bishop Anthony Burton of Saskatchewan, in an e-mail to the Anglican Journal, said that the diocese was ministering to the community, which is reeling from the shock of the murders. A 17-year-old Montreal Lake teenager has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
