Mothers get wired

Published January 1, 2007

The Canadian chapter of Mothers’ Union (MU), has launched a Web site, www.mothersunioncanada.ca.

MU, which the Arcbishop of Canterbury once referred to as the “fifth instrument of unity” in the Anglican Communion,  has more than 3.6 million members in 77 countries, making it one of the largest Christian organizations in the world. In Canada, the 800 members are spread across Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Nationally, MU works with bishops in the Council of the North, through the Northern Clergy Families Fund. In 2005, it was able to provide 13 gifts of $950 each to clergy families nominated by the bishops.
