Japan elects primate

Tokyo
Bishop James Toru Uno of the diocese of Kita Kanto in central Japan, was elected primate of the Anglican church in Japan, succeeding Archbishop John Furumoto, at the church’s General Synod in May. The synod also appointed Rev. Lawrence Minabe as General Secretary, succeeding Rev. Samuel Koshiishi.
