Hats off to young girl

A young parishioner and her priest at the parish of Hanover and Durham together raised $2,500 for the Cops for Cancer program by doing something that is symbolic of the disease ? they shaved their heads.

Aran Oberle, a grade six student, had approached Rev. Greg Jenkins with a request ? that he join her in shaving her head to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of her cousin, who has cancer.

The pledges they received totalled more than half the amount raised by the whole school.
