Terry Thompson, General Synod archivist since 1979, is leaving the Anglican Church of Canada’s national office in Toronto for the position of assistant director of information resources at the University of Calgary. Her resignation is effective Aug. 15, 2003.

Ms. Thompson said in an interview that in her new position she will be able to maintain her connection to church history and native rights and justice issues. She will be responsible for special collections, the Museum of the Regiment, the Canadian Architectural archives, the university library archives and records management program, and the university freedom of information and privacy policy.

“The position will also give me the opportunity to write and reflect in areas of church history and first nations justice issues,” Ms. Thompson said.
