Director to serve on international commission

Canon Alyson Barnett-Cowan, director of the Anglican Church of Canada’s faith, worship, and ministry department, has been appointed to the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission for Unity, Faith and Order (IASCUFO).

Canon John Gibaut, a Canadian-Anglican and director of the Geneva-based World Council of Churches’ Commission on Faith and Order, has also been appointed, along with 18 others. The commission will advise Anglican provinces, primates, the Anglican Consultative Council and the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The appointments were announced July 1 by the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams.
