Dolls

Knitted dolls from Toronto in a manger scene … tiny figures in Amish dress bringing a basket of pretzels to the baby Jesus … carved bamboo nativity figures from Indonesia … silver figurines from Mexico … the Holy Family as Russian nesting dolls. These are some of the 100 creches from around the world that St. James Cathedral, Toronto, is exhibiting from Dec. 7, 2002 through Jan. 5, 2003. The exhibit is located at the cathedral’s archives and museum in the parish house, 65 Church Street, Toronto. For information about days and hours, phone Nancy Mallett at 416-364-7865, ext. 233.)
