The 11-member Council of the North has approved a grant to support ministry for the parishes of the central interior of British Columbia. The $152,568 grant previously went to the diocese of Cariboo, which closed down as a legal and administrative entity on Dec. 31. Bishop John Clarke of Athabasca, chair of the Council of the North, said the motion to redirect the funding so that parishes affected by the demise of Cariboo could continue with ministry, was adopted unanimously.
