Bishop to lend a hand

Bishop Ralph Spence of Niagara announced on Nov. 18 during the diocese’s annual synod, or governing convention, that Bishop Ann Tottenham, 65, has agreed to join Niagara as assistant bishop. He told synod that “Bishop Ann will help with confirmations and Sunday preaching and special services of dedications.” She starts work in the diocese this month. Bishop Tottenham retired last August from the diocese of Toronto, where she had served as suffragan, or assistant, bishop since 1997.
