Archdeacon gets degree

Thorneloe University in Sudbury, Ont. has awarded an honorary doctorate of theology to Archdeacon Mark Conliffe, who has served the diocese of Algoma for many years.

He also gave the convocation address. Now retired, he was archdeacon, rural dean and rector of St. Michael?s church, all in Thunder Bay, Ont.

He became archdeacon emeritus of the diocese in September 2001. Archdeacon Conliffe provides interim ministry in Thunder Bay and is Algoma’s representative for the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund.
