Church Publishing Inc., the official publisher of the Episcopal Church of the United States (ECUSA), has appointed the Toronto-based Anglican Book Centre, the Anglican Church of Canada’s nationally-known retailer of books, vestments and other religious items, as its exclusive Canadian distributor.

The accord provides wholesale distribution of Church Publishing’s books, resources and electronic media to Canadian retailers across the country.

“Church Publishing produces a wide variety of excellent materials that will be of interest not only to Anglicans, but to Christians of every denomination,” said Daniel Benson, general manager of the Anglican Book Centre. “This new partnership will make access to these fine publications easier, faster and cheaper for Canadian book stores and, ultimately, for Canadian readers.”

Church Publishing produces The Book of Common Prayer, The Hymnal 1982 and other ECUSA publications. It also publishes resources for church leaders and titles including the JourneyBook series of first-hand accounts of faith journeys. Founded in 1918, it is based in New York City.

Mr. Benson also announced that the book centre recently signed a Canadian distribution agreement with Word Among Us Press, a Catholic publisher from Florida.
