After visiting the Holy Land last summer, Archbishop Fred Hiltz made a commitment to deepen ties between the Anglican Church of Canada and the Episcopal diocese of Jerusalem. Now, theological student Kerri Brennan, who is the first Canadian to travel to the diocese as a part of the church’s international internship program, will embody those stronger ties.Brennan has just completed her bachelor of theology degree at St. Paul’s University in Ottawa and has applied to do her master of pastoral theology degree there. During her three-month internship, she will “stand as a witness as somebody pursuing ordination in a culture where women aren’t able to do that yet.” Ω
