The diocese of Ottawa and Christ Church Cathedral have taken a step toward development of their city block, called the “ecclesiastical block,” by inviting private developers to submit proposals that would boost revenues for the diocese and the cathedral. The block is made up of five parcels of land with a development potential of about 200,000 square feet. The 1893 mansion that houses the diocesan offices would remain as would the cathedral and a meeting hall.
