Coverage of primate’s visit to the Holy Land a welcome window into painful circumstances

I am very moved by Matthew Puddister’s inspiring interview with Archbishop Shane Parker, primate of the Anglican Church of Canada.

In these chaotic times, there are so many people torn by desperate fear, starvation and death that one’s senses can become numbed by their tortured cries. Indeed, it is said that Palestine is one of the “forgotten” countries in the world. Our primate’s willingness to spend nine days there “speaking out,” and Mr. Puddister’s willingness to “hear” and “enter into” more than “just the facts,” call one to become a participant in the saving of those lives rather than simply an observer. To be able to speak and write about core truths requires core strengths and profound humility. Your message is a much-needed connector for us all.

Thank you so much.

Kathleen M. Gow
