This summer American Anglicans debated two of the major issues Canadians will face next year, welcoming Lutherans into full communion while cautiously acknowledging the presence of unmarried committed couples in their pews.

Bishops at the Episcopal Church U.S.A.’s 73rd General Convention in Denver heard from Archbishop Michael Peers about a number of issues, including residential schools.

The bishops sent a letter of support to the Canadian church, while many individual bishops and delegates offered to help in any way possible.
