Ads were Alpha’s

Alpha is taking over the Church of England – at least according to the CBC. Newsworld ran a story recently about a £1-million ad campaign the church had launched. All the ads were about Alpha, a popular initiation program into Christianity developed by Holy Trinity Brompton, a church in London.

The ads have grabbed headlines across Britain.

The ecumenical project involves 4,000 churches across the U.K. It is aimed at encouraging people – primarily non-churchgoers – to sign up for courses run by Alpha.

Hurricane relief

The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund has donated $15,000 in emergency funds in response to Hurricane Georges’ devastating swing through the Caribbean. The hurricane killed hundreds of people and destroyed most of the crops in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Churches in both countries are providing relief.
