The Montreal Alpha Conference, the first French Alpha conference in North America takes place on April 8 and 9 with Marc Florence de Leyritz. The conference is designed to provide practical, effective, and proven ways of bringing evangelism to the local church. It is also designed for those who would like to start Alpha courses, as well as for churches already running evangelism programs, but who would love to see further growth. American evangelist Lee A. Buck will visit several Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland Anglican churches in May, speaking on the authority and power of Scripture and on Anglican renewal. Mr. Buck will be at St. David’s, Delta, on May 1 at 7:15 p.m., at Brentwood Chapel, Victoria, on May 2 at 7:30 p.m., at St. Mark?s, Qualicum, on May 4 at 7 p.m., at St. Peter?s, Comox, on May 5 at 7 p.m., May 6 at 7 p.m. and May 7 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and at St. John the Divine, Courtenay at 1 p.m.

An Alpha Conference is planned for May 12 and 13 at the University of Western Ontario in London. Speakers will be Rev. Nick Brotherwood and Pastor Tim MacIntosh. 140 years! The Parish of St. Luke, 3821 Cedar Cross Road, Victoria BC, V8P 2M6 is celebrating its 140th Anniversary on June 9, 10 and 11. A Festival of Flowers and Music, with a theme of joy and thanksgiving, will adorn the church. The Sisterhood of St. John the Divine, in Toronto, offers again this summer the Vocational Discernment Program for women. Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island

Rev. Robert LeBlanc has resigned as assistant priest for the parish of Springhill and assumed the responsibilities of priest-in-charge of the parish of Westmorland (Diocese of Fredericton) effective Feb. 1. Rev. Ronald Walker will retire June 1 as the rector of the parish of Timberlea with Lakeside. Rev. James Purchase will retire as rector for the parish of Coxheath, effective July 31.
