Members of the Scottish Episcopal Church, meeting in General Synod, have voted to allow women bishops. Churches across Scotland now have a year to discuss the issue in their own dioceses. The motion will be discussed at next year’s General Synod. If it is passed by two-thirds, the church’s laws will be changed. All seven Scottish Episcopal Church bishops supported the motion.
