PWRDF hires fundraiser, communicator

The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund has a new coordinator of communications and fundraising. Paul Pakyam, has a background in communications, public affairs and media relations.

A native of Pakistan, Mr. Pakyam worked with several international advertising agencies before moving to the Middle East, where he lived and worked for 12 years. Since moving to Canada in 1992, he has worked for both the federal and Ontario governments.

Mr. Pakyam sits on the board of directors of the United Way of Ajax/Pickering, and chairs the United Way’s community development committee.

He also volunteers with the diocese of Toronto as a crisis mediator for parishes in crisis, leading sexual misconduct and visioning workshops. Mr. Pakyam is married with three teenaged children.
