As Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday today, April 21, Archbishop Fred Hiltz, primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, joined many others around the world in congratulating her.
“It is my delight on behalf of the Anglican Church of Canada to extend congratulations on the occasion of your 90th birthday and to assure you of the affection and respect with which you are held in our hearts,” Hiltz wrote in a letter released today.
“Your devotion in your life long labours as Queen has contributed so much to the life of the Commonwealth and to our hope for lasting peace and concord among all nations,” Hiltz said. “Your steadfastness remains an inspiration for us all.
“With this greeting come very best wishes for a Happy Birthday and the pledge of our prayers for you and all the Royal Family,” the letter concluded.
