Bishop Gregory Venables, presiding bishop and primate of the Anglican province of the Southern Cone, was enthroned as diocesan bishop of Argentina.

Bishop Venables has had a long ministry in the South American continent, first as headmaster at St Andrew’s College in Asuncin (Paraguay) and later in Bolivia, where he was the diocesan bishop for eight years.

Bishop Venables is chair of the Theological Education Commission for the Archbishop of Canterbury. He succeeds Bishop David Leake, who has retired.
