Friends remembered him as a “giant in his capacity to share his love.” Canon Grant Bradshaw Hyslop, who died on May 14 at the age of 68, was one who always welcomed people into his family home.

Mr. Hyslop dedicated his adult life to volunteer service at all levels of the Anglican Church of Canada. A lay reader for nearly 40 years at the Cathedral of St. Alban’s, Kenora, Ont., he served on vestry, and was the people’s warden for a number of terms. He was elected to provincial synod, sat as delegate to General Synod six times, served two terms on Council of General Synod, and was elected to the national executive committee and the national program committee. His service to the church took him from the Pacific to the Arctic.

Mr. Hyslop is survived by Linda, his wife of 44 years, and children Jennifer, Janet, Ian, and Laird, and grandchildren.
