Tractor-hat mitre takes the cake

Archbishop Michael Peers makes the ceremonial first cut in a cake at a special dinner celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund. The dinner was held at last month’s joint meeting of national committees and the Council of General Synod in Mississauga. Joining the Primate are PWRDF committee members, from the left, Rod McDowall, Sue McKay-Smith, Jessica Dressler and Monica McKay.

Beauvoir resigns

Canon Ogé Beauvoir, regional co-ordinator for Africa and the Middle East in the partnerships division of the national office of the Anglican Church since August 1996, has resigned his position effective at the end of April. Canon Beauvoir will join the staff of Trinity Parish Wall Street, New York, where he will co-ordinate telecommunications projects of the Trinity grants program, as well as assuming some liturgical and pastoral work in the parish. and for the assurance “that our rights and liberties are safe.”

Beresford to staff ACC 11

Rev. Eric Beresford, the Anglican Church’s co-ordinator for ethics and interfaith dialogue has been invited to be a consultant to the Anglican Consultative Council meeting in September in Dundee, Scotland. He will assist the council in dealing with Lambeth resolutions concerning ethical issues surrounding technology and the environment.
