Balanced budget for 2011

Published January 1, 2011

The Council of General Synod (CoGs) unanimously approved a balanced budget for the Anglican Church of Canada’s General Synod in 2011 when it met in Mississauga, Ont. from Nov. 18 to 22. CoGS previously set a goal of achieving a balanced budget by 2012, and that target has been met one year ahead of schedule. Over the past three years, 23 staff at the national office have been laid off. The Partnerships department has been eliminated and the position of a full-time librarian will be phased out this year.
