Ottawa ministry to provide affordable housing for women

Cornerstone Housing for Women-a community ministry of the diocese of Ottawa-has launched a $6.8 million project to convert the former “Mother House” of a Roman Catholic religious community into a home for 42 women needing safe, affordable housing.

‘Forces at play’ threaten reconciliation in Canada

Senator Murray Sinclair, who was chair of the Indian Residential Schools Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), praised the Anglican Church of Canada for it efforts to further reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Canadians, but says more needs to be done.

New bishop consecrated for military ordinariate

Fire at women’s shelter forces evacuation

No one was injured in an early-morning fire, January 30, at an emergency shelter operated by Cornerstone Housing for Women, a ministry of the diocese of Ottawa.

Anglican bishop ordinary election set for March

New details about missing children in TRC final report

The six-year mandate of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) ended December 15 with the release of a multi-volume report that ushers in what the commissioners called a “new era in reconciliation for Canada.”
