Young clergy and seminarians from the Anglican Diocese of Montreal are creating an oasis of holiday peace in the midst of a hectic downtown mall.

In the busy Promenades de la Cathedrale Shopping Centre, along the corridor that runs parallel to Union Street, is a quiet area where harried shoppers will soon be able to escape the chaos. It’s a place where they can unwind, pray, meditate and have a spiritual conversation over a hot drink.

From Dec 1 to 24, clergy will welcome guests on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The Right Rev. Barry Clarke, bishop of Montreal, will open and bless the Advent chapel on Dec. 1.

For more information, call the Rev. Maida Vandendorpe at 438-777-4565 or email her at [email protected].
