Catherine Pate, former youth ministry co-ordinator for the Anglican diocese of Rupert’s Land, has been appointed editor for the Evangelical Lutheran Women (ELW), which produces a magazine and other resources.

Ms. Pate will edit Esprit, a quarterly magazine published since 1986, whose goal is to “inspire, challenge, and educate Christian women.”

In an e-mail, Ms. Pate also said she would like “to see Anglican women given access” to the magazine. “Full communion (between the Anglican and Lutheran churches) provides an entryway into a new conversation about this and other places where women from the two churches might meet,” she said.

For more information about ELW and Esprit magazine, visit the Web site www.elw.ca or call Esprit at (204) 984-9160.
