The United Church of Canada has launched a $10.5 million, three-year media campaign aimed at connecting with Canadians 30-45 years old. The project, the largest ad campaign ever by a church in Canada, includes an interactive Web site, www.wondercafe.ca, and a series of cheeky ads. One such ad features Jesus in Santa’s chair, with a child on his lap, and asks, “Would you still take your kids? After all, isn’t Christmas supposed to be about Him, not the guy in the red suit? Or can it be both?” It then invites people to express their thoughts on the Web site.
