Geneva
The newly elected general secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC) has said that relations with the Roman Catholic Church and with Islam are two key issues for the Geneva-based church grouping.
“I would like to continue the WCC’s strong relations with the Roman Catholic Church and make them even stronger,” Rev. Olav Fykse Tveit, a 48-year-old ordained pastor in the Church of Norway, told journalists after his election in Geneva.
