A service of thanksgiving for the life of Bishop Leslie Peterson was held Sunday, Sept. 8 at Trinity church, Parry Sound, Ont., diocese of Algoma. Trinity was Bishop Peterson?s last parish before he was elected bishop of Algoma in 1983, said Archdeacon Harry Huskins, who preached at the service. Les Peterson was ?a most reluctant bishop,? he said, whose ?heart was as a parish priest.? About 100 people attended the service. Bishop Peterson died July 25 at the age of 73.
