Rev. Lynn Ross resigned as editor of the Quebec Diocesan Gazette, the diocese of Quebec’s monthly newspaper, and as rector of St. Luke’s, Magog, in June as part of a settlement of a dispute with the diocese. Quebec Bishop Bruce Stavert appointed Jim Sweeny, the diocesan registrar, as interim editor of the Gazette. Mr. Sweeny said in an interview that the diocesan executive council would review communication policy. “We will continue to have the Gazette,” he said. Rev. Ross, who was editor for 17 years, had sued over several issues, including Bishop Stavert’s withdrawal of the title of archdeacon, disagreement over the use of parish funds and over the use of the parish rectory, said Mr. Sweeny.
