Now that’s well put

I have much sympathy with Bishop Spong [The Bible…to be continued, Jan. 2012, p. 9]. Today, many speak of the paradigm shift, as our society moves from throw-away to recycle. Paradigm shifts must be taken into account if we would communicate with our contemporaries, and there is no more important paradigm shift than the way we think about and speak of God.Paul Tillich wrote of God as “the ground of being”-the sine qua non of everything. There is a story about Tillich arriving in heaven, where he is met by an imposing figure:Tillich: Are you God?
God: Yes.
Tillich: Take me to your leader.

Couldn’t have put it better myself.
