We have some experience with micro financing from the old days of Partnerships and the Public Social Responsibility Unit (PSR). They were both overseas and in Canada and were good experiences. It would be nice to do so again if there were a part of the General Synod still capable of doing so.

I was glad to read this article because I will soon be going to Uganda to visit a wonderful Anglican counsellor in Kampala and help her to encourage teen girls to stay in school. My friend is Nankunda Hope Mwijuka who is a team leader for girls at Girls Not Brides Uganda Alliance. http://www.girlsnotbrides.org/periods-child-marriage-link Empower 1 GIRL and she will Empower 20 GIRLS:
She is also the mother of 3 girls. Since she is an Anglican, I am looking forward to worshipping with her during my 12- day visit.(Oct 19th-Nov 1st 2017) I go to UK first on Oct 16th and fly from there. I will also visit a child I have supported through Compassion. It is a personal mission of mine to encourage Hope and the girls. I have supported her financially for about 16 months now because she wants teens to value learning and have "Books not Babies". I have read about forced marriages there and know others involved in trying to stop early marriages. I am so glad the PWRDF does so much work in Africa as well as elsewhere in the world. I have done all the diaconate courses and teach a Bible study along with doing pastoral visiting in our parish of Southern Trinity(St Andrew's) Harrow ON.
