Although set aside in many fronts to help ourselves adapt to the fast progressing world of Canada & the world, Inuit have patiently moved forward in their faith that all will be in good time (God's time) take form & shape of God's kingdom to grow. We may have been flabbergasted by events that have taken place all over the world as we watch from "Up here" how many countries have changed to from God fearing nations to World law fearing nations. Although as a northern people we have many faults, we are not ignorant of the prophesies of the Bible which we see unfold right before our eyes on a daily basis. The days of Noah are here and we need to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our faith, hope, & love.
Bishop Mark MacDonald has written in my opinion one of his most prophetic sermons of his life! Primate/Archbishop Andrew Hutchinson introduced Mark MacDonald on January 4th, 2007 as the First National Indigenous Bishop within the Anglican Church of Canada. Mark's appointment was effective March 1st, 2007 and I for one have eagerly watched his growth since then. His leadership really began in the 10 years he served as the Bishop of the U.S. Episcopal diocese of Alaska. For that experience we should all be extremely grateful. Mark is a knowledge keeper from that tenure plus all the other teachings he has been entrusted with along his journey up until now. The vision I personally witnessed in Pinawa, Manitoba at the Sacred Circle of 2005 is becoming to a reality. Every step of his journey thus far has given him both the insight and courage to write such a brilliant, honest homily. Creator is indeed very proud of this wise, yet humble man. I truly hope Mark, his lovely wife and children are prepared for this new path he will be forging for many Canadians that are aware enough to truly understand the depth of this message and the horrific consequences that can come of our planet if not taken care of immediately. The world is so blessed to have both the young prophetic voices like Greta, Autumn and many others past, present and future and the more seasoned like Mark, Maude Barlow, David Suzuki all giving the same warnings and yet hope that we can turn this world around.
Let's all put on our marching boots and let this journey begin working diligently together. Chi-miigwetch Mark.
