The Rev. Dr. Grant LeMarquand, a graduate of Wycliffe College in Toronto, has been appointed assistant bishop for the Horn of Africa, within the diocese of North Africa and the Horn of Africa.
Archbishop Mouneer Anis, primate of the Province of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East and bishop of the diocese of Egypt, announced Le Marquand’s appointment on Dec. 8.
A Canadian, the Rev. Le Marquand is currently full professor of biblical studies and mission at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Penn.
In his written announcement, Archbishop Anis described the Rev. Le Marquand as “very committed to mission, evangelism and ecumenical relations.” The Rev. Le Marquand has served in Canada, the U.S. and Kenya. He is also well-known to the diocese of Egypt, where he has led numerous retreats and conferences.
The date of his consecration has been set for April 25, 2012, in Cairo; his installation will take place on Oct. 27, 2012, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
