For the 18th straight week, a Christian Facebook page launched in 2009 by a North Carolina doctor has attracted more activity than Justin Bieber’s page, easily earning the honour of “most engaging page.”

With only 8.2 million fans, the Jesus Daily racked up 3.4 million interactions two weeks ago, compared with about 630,000 interactions among Justin Bieber’s 35 million fans, according to AllFacebook.com, an independent site that tracks Facebook traffic.

Each morning, Dr. Aaron Tabor posts Christ’s sayings, Bible verses, religious artwork and inspirational messages on the Jesus Daily, which has spent at least 18 weeks in the number one spot for engagement (referring to the number of posts, likes, comments and responses a page receives).

The Bible Page, a U.K.-based Facebook page with about 8 million followers, had one million interactions last week, further testimony to the growing role of social media in religious life.
