I appreciate Bishop MacDonald's comments. His comments are the best exposition I have heard definding and explaining what traditional Christian teaching is. His point, that it is important part of marriage the two persons be different beings, their difference being part of, and the whole point of marriage, and the diffennt beings represent different principles in the Universe. Right on. I really agree with him.
A same-sex couple might have some reality, it might be some kind of "a good", but it is not the same ontologically as a man-woman marriage. The difference and the distinction are important. I think it is stupid, and it is dishonest, for the words "man' "woman" " Husband" and 'wife" to be removed from the Marriage Canon, and the words "person" or "partner" substituted. Sanitizing our language is NOT a progressive reform.

In reply to <a href="https://anglicanjournal.com/indigenous-marriage-talk-may-ease-tensions/#comment-12107">Gary Burnham</a>.

Gary Burnham,
You are 100% correct. One only needs to here the words of Jesus Christ in His response to the question the Pharisees asked about divorce in Matthew 18
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
It is abundantly clear to every person that is a true Christian that the never has been, is not now, and never shall be "same sex marriage"!

I care little about sending you or anyone hate mail, but I will tell you this. You throw out words like Divisiveness as if the 2016 vote was out of touch. You talk as if the UN has credibility and their words carry weight. They are the very organization that wants to see Israel wiped off the map! You can try and burn the candle at both ends Bishop MacDonald but it won't work. Its as simple as Rev. 21: 8
