I am responding to this interesting article on the t-coil.
We at St. Andrew’s church in Trail have had this loop for a few years now and some of our parishoners are pleased with the results.
Our local Audiologist and priest, Rev. Neil Elliot, worked with us to understand the intricacies of this system at the church. This fall, this hearing enhancement for citizens is being installed in our local Bailey Theatre.
Hearing aid appliances need to have a channel programmed for the t-coil and not all hearing aids have this capacity. It is suggested, if one is purchasing new hearing aids, to enquire about this feature before deciding on a certain type of aid. The older type of aids will not likely work with this new technology, and your Audiologist can check existing aids to see if they have this capacity installed.
My devices are blue tooth compatible and I am very pleased with my enhanced hearing capacity.
The cost is certainly worth the installation of this technology,
Happy listening-Elizabeth Truant-long time member(1958) of St. Andrews church in Trail, B.C.
