Global student groups

More than 150 young people from about 90 countries gathered in Montreal in August for the 34th  assembly of the World Student Christian Federation.

The federation, which welcomed four new student movements from Timor Leste (East Timor), Iraq, Brazil, and Mexico, describes itself as a global grouping of almost 110 national student Christian movements “committed to justice, peace and empowering Christian students to live out gospel values.”

Students acknowledged the role played by student Christian movements in Canada, the United States and Europe in the 1950s and earlier.
