Journal wins 17 awards

The Anglican Journal won a total of 17 awards at two recent national and international church press conventions.

The Canadian Church Press (CCP) recognized the Journal with three first place awards at its May 1-3 convention in Cambridge, Ont. The Associated Church Press (ACP) honoured the newspaper with one Award of Excellence (first place) at its April 20-23 convention in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Two diocesan newspapers received CCP awards: Crosstalk, the newspaper of the diocese of Ottawa, won third place in the General Excellence/Regional newspaper category and third place in colour photo. Dialogue,  diocese of Ontario, won second place in the Column (newspaper) category.

The CCP is an association of more than 80 Canadian religious publications. ACP has about 200 members in the U.S. and Canada.
