Do we change just because the world has deviated from the teachings of the Bible . The church seems to be rushing headlong into following the mores of the world without a thought about the God says on the subject,I guess you follow who you worship

Our dear Primate asserts: ““If we didn’t have to have a legislative process, everybody would be a lot happier.” No, if we didn’t have a legislative process, we’d have to have a pope. Anglican (as opposed to Roman) polity has evolved. Decisions are collegial, with episcopal, clergy, and lay participation, not dictates. Hence we have to have a legislative process to come to the decisions. Yes, there are “losers”; but we trust the Holy Spirit inspires the whole body, and allows us to evolve. If traditionalists decide they cannot live within the body, then they can’t. We must be charitable to all, but we also mustn’t be overly concerned by current controversy, no matter how emotionally charged. The Anglican Church continues; the controversies over birth control, or divorce, or the ordination of women, have died down, despite the anxieties of the House of Bishop each time they first flared up. The same will happen to controversy over the marriage canon and the place of homosexual Christians in the Communion. My feeling is that most of us in the pews simply feel: “Let’s get on with it.”

JESUS specifically stated was that marriage was between man & women . You may have life long friends but sexua relations are another matter. As JESUS said to the Samaritan women at the well ( with many husbands & cohabitant that she was looking for love in the wrong places and also for GOD in a specific place. HE implied that she was looking for love in the wrong places & you will find it only in GOD in your heart.

While I cannot speak for my fellow Commissioners, I would say that avoiding an exclusionary, univocal understanding of marriage was precisely what we aimed at in This Holy Estate (see the section on models). It should therefore be possible to accommodate everyone, not by restricting our Anglican understanding of marriage but by expanding it.

In reply to Dale Barry. It’s as simple as God created a man and woman and that alone will explain what a marriage is all about.. marriage is between a Man and a Woman. It’s as simple as black and white. If you change the Law of God then you are not following the teaching of Lord Jesus Christ.
