Seems to me that there is a movement being set in motion to systematically dismantle the Anglican Church of Canada as we know it and replace it with a watered down digital version of the Church we know and love. This movement began with the introduction of the BAS and the New Hymn Book and using the Pandemic as a convenient excuse to force more changes on an ever weary group of churchgoers. The worshippers who struggled though two world wars and a crippling depression never waivered in their efforts to lead by example and build firm foundations for future generations to follow. To what end, to be called racists, colonialists and have the new kids on the block thumb their noses at those who have gone before. I do not understand the business of a self-determining Indigenous church, it just brings to mind the old saying of a house divided against itself shall not stand, if the marriage is over then shake hands and wish each other well and get on with it, perhaps under the name of the Indigenous Church. With regard to a lighter structure regarding the role of Bishops and Primate, it looks more like a certain faction is lookig for nothing nore than a power grab. The one area I fully support is for the church to further partner with community groups to protect the most vulnerable among us. I wish the best to the CoGS but the "New Church" doesn't seem like my cup of tea.
