You might want to start with a fantastic program put our by Joni and Friends international which has a lot of the tools and training you need at several level of programs from church awareness to Masters Degree programs being implemented www.joniandfriends.org/education-and-training/
You might want to tap in the word Disability Theology and see what comes up.
You could attend a course coming up in Toronto Chrisitan Horizons taught by Dr. Neil Cudney.
However I would overall suggest you start with the Christian Disability Institute in California and there starter course called Beyond Suffering backed by a Leadership Course.
I am moving to Ontario. You could hire me. I have wanted a position like this for sometime.

Why is it going to be a volunteer position? Until you take the situation seriously and put money behind it, you're never going to send the right message that you're taking the situation seriously. Part time and volunteer? Really? The message is clear to me. Those of us with disabilities don't rate. We're not so much as a budget item.

The term ``Wheelchair bound`` is not appropriate in this day and age. A wheelchair (scooter, walker, etc) is a piece of equipment used by people who need it for independence, safe and/or comfortable mobility. A more respectful phrase is ``people who use wheelchairs or other mobility aides``. The task is to accommodate and speak of people, not equipment.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm a disability advocate in the Diocese of Toronto, and the University. I noticed that the article calls some respondents to the report "wheelchair-bound," which implies that wheelchairs create a space of captivity; the truth is that people are "wheelchair mobilized," because the chairs create the potential for freedom of motion. Who can I talk to in order to get the language in the article edited?
